South Pole Race Centenary 2011-2012

Team Fire and Ice GB are proud to have been accepted onto the 2012 Amundsen Omega 3 South Pole Race. This follows the same format as the recent BBC series "On Thin Ice" - that included the team of Ben Fogle, James Cracknell and Ed Coats.

The team is raising funds for The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families' Association (SSAFA), which is the leading national charity committed to helping and supporting those who serve in our Armed Forces in theatres of war such as Afghanistan, Iraq and the Falklands, those who used to serve, together with the families of both.

The team's other main beneficiary, The Fire Fighters Charity, provides a range of services that enhance quality of life for serving and retired fire service personnel and their families. Fire Fighters are used regularly for specialist rescue operations in disaster zones around the world as well as in the UK.
